now that the euphoria has almost died down, the legs are in recovery and the medal has pride of place in some part of your home,, Dublin has re claimed its streets that we (the runners ) owned for a few hours on marathon Monday , we are all left with memories some are good and some maybe not so good but whatever it was , you all did great as you had the courage to take on the challenge of the marathon and run for your own personal reasons , charity , a personal goal , or just to enjoy it , Dublin marathon this year was a very special event for me as it was my 300th marathon and I want thank everyone who made my day so memorable ,, Dublin Marathon organisers very kindly give me the number 300 and they treated me like I was an elite runner (which you all know I am not ) My family who were so supportive and without whom I would never have achieved this goal . my two lovely Daughters Jacqueline Hughes and Sarah O Hagan, who joined me on the day making it even more special, My lovely running buddies in The North East Runners Dundalk and coach Jim Gonnelly, The marathon club Ireland and East of Ireland marathons , who put on so many marathons throughout the year which makes marathon running more affordable and also more achieveable , Those of you who ran a few mile with me on my 300th Journey , Eimear Hurley, , where would I be without her ever by my side? , she is just so vivacious , she makes everyone around her feel good ,, Brenda M Okeeffe who now takes on NYC marthon this weekend , Kathleen Cheshire,, Theresa Murphy and , Patrick O Neill, running for Autism ,,, Colm Fearon AKA Bootsie ,, you really helped make my day with your cheeful banter and your skillful camera work , twins Cora Dunne Mcgrane and Alison Dunne Shearman, you two really rocked the day . Also want to mention Fyfees for sponsoring me, , my charity Aurelia Trust helping orphaned children in Romania will benefit from any money collected , The Argus, Dundalk who give me great coverage and also Frank Greally editor of The Irish Runner Magazine which had a lovely artticle in this months edition To each and everyone one of you who sent me good wishes and lovely words of encouragment on facebook I thank you and appreciate it all . Also all the friends who were able to join me in Kenedys Pub in Dublin and the Belvedere hotel , thank you for sharing my special day ,
