now that the holiday is over i can share this. i tried a little experiment this past year.. Im always hearing we love you honey, youre important to us honey, stay in touch, see you soon...and other little phrases, im sure you get the point. But as time goes by and the older i get i realize I am the only one staying in touch, I call, I email, I text and so on. So this year i decided to stop. I stopped calling, I stopped texting, I stopped emailing...and I waited, I did what I do best...I sat back and watched. And ya know a funny thing happened...those people who said they loved me, cared about me and to stay in touch seemed to have disappeared. Anybody who knows me...really knows me, knows I will go out of my way for you, give you the shirt off my back, stop in the middle of my family moments to make sure you have what you need when life throws lemons at you. But it seems that some people feel I should do all the work to maintain a relationship with them. NOT ANYMORE!! Let me be perfectly clear to these people (and they know who they are)...If you want me to be a part of your life, you know where I am. If your life is so busy with whatever it is you do, then remember MINE is as well. The difference? I took the time to try and nurture a relationship with you. But to those of you who text me daily, message me, call me, yell across the yard to me or even give me an occasional hello on facebook...YOU are my friend, YOU are my family, and I thank you. And I love you guys, youre the best. The rest of you should be ashamed of yourself. remember this...my back is almost completely turned, once its fully turned there will be no going back
