The Humanitarian Affairs Officer reports to the Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer/Chief of the Humanitarian Leadership Strengthening Unit. Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work Experience At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in training and professional development or related area that includes specifically leadership development is required. Experience in working with senior leaders. Experience in humanitarian affairs is highly desirable. Experience within the UN common system is desirable. Field experience in complex emergencies or natural disasters is desirable. Languages English and French are working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
