oh I have lost my faith in humanity:( I just cannot believe the depth of stupidity I am seeing on almost a daily basis:(((( tonight on my way out of work ( walmart parking lot) in comes a beautiful brand new fancy pickup truck towing behind what I can only describe as a "car hauler...a flat two wheeled trailer meant to tow a car behind , completely open with the double wheels on either side of the trailer about center...wheels have little tin sort of fenders over them.... the trailer is loaded to the gills with all kinds of expensive heavy equipment and toys... a big john deer yard tractor, couple of dirt bikes, a motor cycle and a four wheeler ....loaded...as he turned into the parking lot...here sits atop the tin wheel coverings of the trailer a CHEAPplastic dog crate( kmart maybe)and inside .. an at least 90 lbs yellow lab:( this kennel was about the size I would put one of my corgis in for one.. and sitting outside of the main trailer over the wheel fender!!!! I was completely flabber ghasted... jaw dropped took a second to realize I was really seeing this.... finally I decided I couldnt take it and called 91 as we cant get our pd station after 3 pm.... they sent a cruiser...who sspoke to the smiling guy( only human in the truck) went around and looked at the dog..... went back to the cruiser and I thought..oh tell me he is gonna let this go on????? never ind this cheap kennel is lashed to the equipment with rstchet straps and bungee cords... but oput over the top pf the wheels???? behind a pickup in an open hugely vented kennel behind the trucks exhaust???and anything else the trailer kicks up????? so I waited ...and when the cruiser left( dog still in same place, I was dismayed and went home... the officer actually called me to tell me...he spoke to the guy and suggested he find a better location for the dog, but informed me that in MN there is apparently no law in place forbidding the carriage of a companion animal in the back of ( or over the wheels of) an open trailer:( well... I am dumbfounded... the guy told the officer he couldnt put him in the rtruck as he had stuff in the truck...duh???put the STUFF over the wheels and the dog IN THE VEHICLE???? I am so dissalusioned to think anyone would travel with an animal like this:(((( I am speechless ..I think someone should cram his ass in a crate the size a child would fit in and tie him on the wheel covers of the trailer and go for a long trip..one way please!!!!
