oh come on. not again. when Muharam approaches, the whole debate about tatbeer and self-harm completely drives away the true essence of Muharam. i mean, in my opinion, instead of preparing knives to cut you physically, isnt it just better to prepare yourself morally and spiritually and take real-life lessons from Muharam rather than practising a trend that has no historical basis and all it does is make shia look like wierd self-harming extremists which we are not! to be honest, if i was not a muslim and saw these tatbeer things happening, i would never convert. so maybe we should get our priorities sorted out.
