ok Kathy Long just reminded me of another story lets see if anyone remembers this one .saturday nite KIMBAL BRIDGE RACING you remember the 1/4 mile strech to the bridge which was only wide enough for one car. Tony Gilleland had just bought a mercury grabber compareable to a comet which my buddy Rex Cox had they decided to race one nite on the 1/4 mile we lined them up and right before they took off an african american gentleman came flying around the curve running about 100 miles an hour saw the 100 or so people that had pulled over on the side of the road to watch the race slammed his brakes on and his fairlane 500 rolled about 5 times landing on its top upside down. We all ran over to his car thinking he was dead and he jumped out of the car with a 12 pak of beer and a bucket of Kentucky Fried chicken looked at us and said HEY YALL NEVER SAW ME and took off running and just left his car sitting there with the wheels still spinning didnt even hurt him. anyone besides me and kathy remember that one.
