ok Nurse friends.... Gail Simpson, Elaine Hogg, Gillian Reid and anyone else that i have forgotten !!! Noah was in hospital sat night with RSV and bronchiolitis, he got out sunday as wasnt continuing to need oxygen and to be fair i pushed to get out as we were not getting any sleep in there and felt he would be better at home. They discharged us with sambucol inhaler 4 puffs throughout the day, however he is still not taking much fluids, he hardly had anything yesterday - possibly 250ml all day, but was sleepy exhausted from previous day, he slept last night but didnt take any fluids thorugh the night and he normally does. I was all set to take him back in this morning but he has since perked up had some toast and about 100ml of juice.... has had a wet and dirty nappy, but his hands and feet are cold. At what point do I take him back as really feel he should be drinking more but he doesnt want it at all. His breathing is rattley but currently he is walking about and playing with lola... To complicate matters they phoned me yesterday afternoon say that there was some bacteria growing in his blood culture but that they wouldnt know what it is until today ( and it could be a contamination) but if he got worse and/or stopped having fluids I should bring him back... So i am currently fluctuating between taking him back in and holding off. I know dehydration can make them go downhill quickly, and I clearly dont want that but neither do I want him admitted unnecessarily as i do think it doesnt help him getting poked and prodded and upset if they are just monitoring him ... advice would be greatly appreciated... am going to give him til 11 and see where we are and if he is still perky and drinks more i might hold off ....
