ok finished and this is the finished letter Dear agent/Publisher My name is Lorraine Jean Bush. I am based 20 miles outside of London in Berkshire. I started writing at the age of 9 years old, mainly as a release from my inner turmoil. My writing grew as a major part of my life along with my music. Please find my attached first three chapters of my novel “Behind the smiles” for your kind consideration, along with my synopsis. “Behind the smiles” has approximately 49,000 words. It is entirely based on fact and tells my own personal story of my harsh abusive childhood. I have tried to make my book a little different by focusing not so much on the deeds forced upon me, but from the aspect of how the abuse affected my life as a child, how it slowly destroyed me, and how it rendered me emotionless. It takes the reader on a journey from the very first ugly incident to my eventual escape from my three tormentors. Other books in the same genre and similar to mine are “A child called it” by David Pelzer and “Damaged” by Cathy Glass. The target audience for my book would be aimed at age groups of 16 years and over. I was encouraged to write my book by fellow authors and friends, and also by my sister who travelled the journey with me.
