ok, first, an apology for posting an article from the otherwise vile and loathesome daily mail. BUT, this is a real story about a real person. this has happened, its not a threat, its not a worry, its not a possibility. its a fact. if you live on the fylde and own your own home, then you are going to be shocked if you decide to sell it to move on or up the housing ladder. because fracking is stopping people from buying, and house values are now declining and are set to go into freefall. if you think it wont affect you, or that its scaremongering, then you delude yourself. all over the fylde, sellers are hearing the same thing sorry i dont want to live near a fracking site, and rest assured, as cuadrilla plan to drill 3000 wells here, we are ALL going to be living next to one soon. if youre relying on your houses value to prop up your pension, or plan to do equity release, then youre in for a big big shock. perhaps if youre pro fracking you might want to thank francis egan of cuadrilla for relieving you of 2 thirds of your propertys value, im sure he will be glad to shake your hand and smile and say its all propoganda, he doesnt live here btw so fracking isnt affecting him, aside from filling his bank balance. but sooner or later the people of the fylde coast are going to have to realise that this is real, its happening and its not going to leave them unaffected. if they ever start large scale drilling and fracking then houses on the fylde will be as marketable as downtown gaza. ddont say you werent warned! and just in case you think that this is all a storm in a teacup and will all blow over. the government has told local authorities to send out inspectors to properties near fracking sites to revalue them for council tax puropses by droping them from high value bands to lower value bands. as though when your house has been devalued by half a million quid youre gonna be grateful for 500 quid off your council tax bill. would the govt be doing this if it didn tknow for sure that these things were happening? well we dont know, because a report out last week that talked about the effect that fracking would have on property values was heavily censored by the government and all the bits about the effect on property values came out as pages of black lines where the information was deemed as not in the pulic interest. thats right, theyre using legislation designed to protect spies and espionage agents to prevent the public finding out that the actions of a private corporation are detrimental to the interests of the general public. and they say they have nothing to hide!!!!
