ok, for those who really truly know me, you know I can be extremely blunt so you are prepared, for those who dont..oh well..i was triggered on the March Of Dimes piece and had written my comment about what was said after Shawns surgery, most of my family knows he had to have surgery with no anesthesia and was wiggling on the table per the nurse. that is not what I am discussing here though. how many times have you heard that a preemie is not viable and shouldnt be kept alive? in these days of constant fighting about healthcare and God knows what else I am reminded of a man who told me point blank to my face that preemies were not viable..well after this fire breathing dragon mama nearly melted off his face with my response these are the parts I remember...think you are brave? think you are tough?donate blood for a baby in the NICU and while there take a good look at the real warriors, their courage goes beyond strength, their willpower beyond belief, they had to fight to be able to enjoy what so many take for granted and are worth every dollar, hell, thousands of dollars it takes to make them live. so, the next time you hear about a preemie say a prayer, say many because their guardian angels stand by them with tears in their eyes as every parent who has been in an NICU or grandparent who had to stand outside the window does.
