ok people on the so roc thing..... im not gonna do the phrase.... but the reminders of the cool ball at long ridge/ and many other places that no longer exist.... I have had meetings in the most georgeous ever board room, the sibley board room, its just unexplainably beautiful and thankfully still preserved... but peep this.... Ames, Zaires, two guys, the toy store at Greece ridge called winkin blinkin and nod that was advertised each morning by a plug from Ranger Bob....and of course kiddie city turn that frown upside down Greece had two major toy stores and two major roller rinks horizon and usa skate. but I was a severely sheltered country girl so I cant say im Rochester, but I have volunteered at all the worst parts of the city and fell in love with it as I turned 18 and learned to ride a bus and familiarized quite quickly. I was on advisory boards with mayor Johnson, and chief duffy and county exec Elliot, raced in an outrigger in the geneses river, cleaned the gorge, built a habitat house, taught Webster ave rec kids to ice skate, judged step off and double dutch tournaments, volunteered for aids rochesters inline skate around the inner loop fundraiser, worked for not me not now then had 3 more kids, fed the seal lions with my kids inside the exhibit at the zoo, recall the song Id rather be in Rochester, the greatest place I know on local tele, and group w cable and when there was no giant corporate Frontier phone but Rochester tel. when the can of works was reconstructed and named little can, 92 wmjq was where I listened to kasey Kasum and dr ruth on sunday nights and giggled , oblivious to what the words she was saying meant. here you go Roc cits fans.... oh and we didnt have 7-11 we had stop n go. and had to add......when Drumcliffe was the ONLY Irish dance school and it was in the huge downtown post office building along with afena akoma.
