ok. seriously not cool. two of my neighbors, homeless kids who live under Denny Bridge, got stabbed about half an hour ago. theyre going to be okay, one was hurt pretty badly though. the perpetrator was one of the couples friends. no comment. there are about 20 pre-18-year-olds living there at any time but the cops come through and sweep them away like so much dirt every couple of weeks. its a cycle, you see, one that has increased in frequency since the South Lake Union Explosion,...well, exploded, cloud rising rapidly to the tune of 35,000 new people living in what was an industrial ghost town until Paul Allen sneezed money all over the place, creating the Cascade Neighborhood of Seattle (use a tissue next time, Paul! Im not saying that the increased foot traffic, which consists of Amazon employees and their support staff, commuting, caused the increase in the sweeps. but I do see the looks of fear or disgust or blasé (sp?) indifference on the faces of young, home-ful passersby. correlation is =not= causation. one of the other bridge kids: yeah, this kind of shit happens all the time. me: not in front of =my= building watch the news tonight, its sure to make a mention, what with the helicopters, news van and three massively weighed down news and police photographers, firetrucks (3), ambulance and police cars (4+?). if I hadnt looked out my window, I would have gone about my day. Everyones already gone (to the hospital, to find a new place to live, to the tv stations, firehouses, et cetera) and theres only the calming rush of I-5 traffic; my continuous companion here in my little escape. forgive the crappy sentences, dont feel like editing right now.
