ok so Im on pretty much no sleep, but heres how I see it. We are attracted to (friendship or otherwise) and repelled by people we barely know for a reason. It has nothing to do with fate or false gods putting them in our path, not destiny or kismet. Its that we see something in them that we possess or that we want to possess, certain traits that draw us, or we see in them reflections of ourselves that we hate; those little flaws that make us ashamed or that we dont want to see. Meeting someone without context is a bit like looking into a mirror. We interpret through our own lens. Once we learn who that person really is, the lens is shattered, but, lo, we have a new person and a new perspective to learn from. Sometimes people dont grow with us. Weve learned what we can.
