ok... so... on my way to the hospital tonight... I was driving... and a coyote that was in the ditch... ran up beside the car... and ran with me for like 100 feet. Then back into the ditch. Lately, Ive been reading up on spirit guides and what animals mean to us. This one was interesting. If the Coyote shows up, it means: Lighten up-- youre taking things much too seriously. The resources you need are available. Something quite unexpected and not necessarily welcome is about to happen. Rather than fighting or running from this situation, it will work out better if you adjust to it. Look for the lessons in the turmoil youre experiencing. Forgive yourself for any mistakes or errors, and look for the gifts that have come out of the experience. Tell me if this sounds like me... If the Coyote is your power animal: Youre always looking for the hidden lessons in difficult situations. Youre a practical joker, and tend to turn just about anything into fun. Youre a survivor, capable of living through any experience. Youre very resourceful, able to adapt to virtually any circumstance. Youre a natural teacher, teaching mainly by example; and as you age, you gain greater and greater wisdom. Youre able to see the humor in the most challenging situations. Your friends consider you to be a paradox, very difficult to pigeonhole or conveniently categorize. I find this very interesting... because tonight was an exercise in preparation. For instance... I had to get ready to go (showered, dressed in my military grade long underwear, insulated canvas dickeys pants, insulated socks, carhartt hat with fuzzy ear flaps, my canvas & wool polo duster, fingerless gloves & my leather work gloves and skimask in my pocket)... make sure I had everything (snacks, laptop, 2 handheld CB radios in case of an emergency, fully charged phone, phone charger)... tested every battery that went into the CBs to make sure they were full charge. Make sure I had an magnetic engine warmer and extension cord in the car since it was going to be -30 tonight. Bottle of Heat gas additive to add after getting gas. I needed to eat before I left cuz Im too cheap to spend money in a vending machine. And I needed to stop at walmart before going to the hospital to get drinks (because again-- Im too cheap to spend two bucks on a 20 ounce semi warm bottle of pop out of a hospital vending machine). While doing all this... I was as calm as a hindu cow. Because I knew it was supposed to be one of the most bone chilling nights that we have seen so far this winter... I wanted to be as ready as I could be... just in case. Of course... I didnt need to do all this crap. But it made me feel better knowing that if anything happened... I could help myself if I needed it. Also allowing me to help my girl... if she needed it. So the three most important things for this trip were taken care of (car, girl.. then me. In that order). By doing this... my mind could feel more at ease for the task at hand. I had to be there for my nephew Jake and his mom Shelly Mudd Bromwich most importantly. My brother Mark W. Bromwich is a trooper... and hes a Bromwich man... so when we are needed... our own comfort isnt important. We will stay up for days... walk and function with broken bones... eat shit if we have too... just so our loved ones are taken care of to the best of our ability. So I wasnt worried about him as much. But Jake... he worried me. Shelly... she worried me. Jake worried me because I didnt want something worse to happen to him then the pain he was already in. Shelly because shes the ultimate mother type. She WILL take a bullet for her kids-- with a smile. And knowing her... she was awake since the birds started chirping. I just wanted her to KNOW that shes got support. No matter what. Shes got it. I dont care what Im doing... where Im at... shes family. Consider it done. When I got to the hospital and found out Jake made it thru surgery and was sleeping. Shelly was starting to calm. Then I could feel better. Ease my mind. Anyway, when I read about the coyote... and what it means if its my power animal... I read that.. and was like-- damn. Thats me. Every sentence. Every day. All day. I just wanted to share this with you all because I found it very interesting. The way my night unraveled. And how I was already ready for it. Im such a nerd. :p But Im a PREPARED nerd!
