ok....so...this is my afternoon in a nutshell: Dad calls, and asks for help in retrieving his suburban from the naval base.... i said sure... soon after, when running with him to pick the car up, i find out why the vehicle is on base: my mother, had a dr. appointment this morning, and forgot her military ID for check in...at the gate, she gives the guard her voters card, and bank card with a pic on it, trying to pass. the gate guard waves his compadre over, and anna GUNS it.... when the gate guard realizes what just happened, he smacks the button that turns on the stopper devices...a device built into the ground that is strong enough to STOP an 18-wheeler going 85 miles an hour. Lucky for my mom, it malfunctioned, and my parents still have a suburban. she then gets pulled over by 6 MP cruisers, who all get out the their vehicles, guns drawn, telling her to get out. She instead, calls my dad. He calmly tells her to "get the hell off the phone, and do what the police officers tell you to do." the MP sargeant was standing right next to him, and said, "wait, do you know her?".... dead pan stare from my dad... "Yes officer...thats my wife." my mom is lucky that they not only didnt fill her and the vehicle with bullet holes, but also that the gate stopper malfuncitoned.... this was the hilarity of my day. :)
