JERRY PITTMAN FREE B-B-Q-DINNER FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY FROM 6:30 - 7:30 PM ENTERTAINMENT FROM 8:30 – 11:00 PM BY INEZ ROBINSON ENSEMBLE FEATUREING INEZ ROBINSON AND TIM JOHNSON PURPOSE San Antonio City, like cities and communities across the United States, has experienced heightened tensions between police and citizens who decry the policies and practices of law enforcement officials, The San Antonio Police Department, the Bexar County Sheriff and various college police departments, more specifically, the University of Incarnate Word Police Department and The Alamo Community College Police Department. San Antonio, our community and the police have been beset with numerous protests and rallies of young people, black, brown and white. These protests have been erupted by steep concern over the deaths of Marquis Jones by SAPD, Robert Redus, by the University Of Incarnate Word Police Department, locally and nationally the death of Eric Gardner N.Y.P.D and other examples of the unconstitutional use of deadly force. OUR ACTION The purpose of this forum is for law enforcement officials community leaders, elected officials, gang leaders and their members, Eastside Neighborhood Association leaders to sit in dialogue and breakout session groups to address issue: Racial profiling, police abuse, e and police internal affairs procedures, excessive force, deadly force. The breakout session groups will report back with three (3) recommendations each for vote by the entire forum participants. The written recommendations will be presented to all parties.
