on this day 13 years ago while working in midtown (44th st and 5th ave) having coffee with co-workers, we gazed upon the tv at 8:46, omg we all said a plane crashed into the wtc, thinking it was a horrible accident and not an act of terror we were upset for the people in the plane and building but not for the nation, we are glued to the tv as you do when any disaster occurs and started hearing terrorism, wtc attack, pentagon -attack, wtc hit again buildings collapse omg my country is under siege, my children who are in long island in school, how can i tell them mommy is ok, my husband and other family and friends, how can i communicate - no cell service, omg quick go downstairs look down fifth avenue - such a beautiful morning can see way downtown, omg the smoke - the carnage the unbelievable deaths - these are just part of my memories of the morning of 9/11 and how we all banded together as one group with my co-workers shaking our heads in disbelief, bowing out heads in sorrow, for the first time in my life feeling a fear so deep - and here we are 13 years later, still being attacked by a new group of monsters, looking to our leaders to keep us safe - may god protect and save us and offer his love to all that have suffered
