one of those times when there are so many amazing things happening in such a short amount of time, that u cant even keep up and continue blogging about it all anymore...u just have to simply live... so late last night i find out Im meeting today with the Dean of the College of Engineering and all the the Chairs of all of the Departments within the College of Engineering at the UDLAP to talk about Empoder. I had one hour today to prepare a presentation (in a room full of kids asking me questions and needing my help) and of course in the hour before my presentation, my powerpoint crashes, my internet dies and my storage device crashes on me all at the same time. lol. Yet, i keep my cool and managed to get my presentation up in time, and when it was my time to present, i knocked it out of the park:) it was crazy, as i started speaking, suddenly i became the MOST FLUENT and polished speaker IN SPANISH that i have ever been in my life!!! it was like the words were coming down from the heavens...and i was literally outside of myself looking in, being like who is this person!? and when did she become so fluent ?!!!! lol but its like everything else, when its your moment and you were born to do something, a part of you that you never knew existed suddenly steps up to the plate & hits a home run, and thats definitely what happened today:) THEN, after a ridiculously successful meeting with the administration of the UDLAP, i rushed over to help my kids with their final presentations for our Empoder Symposium this Friday. As a finale to my 2 week program, Ive put together a 6 hour symposium this Friday, open to the public, where will my kids will be presenting various projects from all the activities and classes theyve had over the past 2 weeks (i.e. Robotics, Instrumentation, Civil Engineering & Sustainability Design, Coding, Videogame Design, Water Purification, Industrial Engineering & Simulations, and Product Design). Anyway, right away I could see that the powerpoint presentations, and more the presentation SKILLS of my kids as young as 9 and 10 years old, literally kick the a$$ of most college students and professionals that I know today!! where did these kids come from?! Out of the sky?! And since when did they learn to present this way!!!? #FutureLeadersAndInnovators4SURE :D I couldnt be more blessed to be working with such a more an amazing and supportive partner (the UDLAP, Universidad de las Americas Puebla) or with a more inspiring and truly gifted group of children
