our first visit a few months back was rough not because the staff didnt try, but because they were so under staffed and over whelmed. So we were nervous about going back to Rose Haven.. But this time has been remarkable. they have done so much to help and I know its not just because we were the sqeeky wheel. How do I know? I have talked with other patients when sitting out in the courtyard and for example one of them said he prefers to stay at Rose Haven over any other place because it feels like family the VA at one point was going to cut off his leg and due to Rose Haven staff working with him he was able to keep his leg very grateful and give a shout out to Kelly the RN . I have seen RH staff in the halls with other patients and as theyre going to a patients room to assist I see staff addressing patient needs as they are on route to their patient. I see staff asking if theyre OK,& asking if they need anything they are showing true compassion with the patients and making sure they are comfortable and their needs are being met. If I had to making on changes there it would be undating equipment, medical beds, and the medical staff could use more reliable equipment like their stethoscopes and the tools they need to to be able to do their job properly for more accurate results. I have seen numerous staff members having to take time out .to work on their equipment like stethoscopes, glucose meters, in a few other things. Other things could be updated for the patience like I noticed remotes with the batteries taped inside because they have old remotes old TVs fans that are missing covers. I see the staff trained to work with what they got to make the best of things. But I would love to see is a fundraiser for medical equipment and remodeling versus a fundraiser to make money too spend on fine dinners at fundraisers or feeling Corporation bill folds.
