I’ve never felt so divorced from my mother’s actions, yet love my mother. How to resolve this is a massive dilemma… A biographer can be a great mirror into your life, particularly if compassionate in exposing the flaws in the work. It was a quality Roger Ebert possessed. As Leonard Cohen sang, ‘it’s the cracks that let the light in.’
