part 6 Story of the prodigal son + Colossians 1:22,23 As you know, the older brother was mad about verse 25 - the music and dancing sounds, coming from the party for the youngest brother. So outrageously unfair, and I protest. I stayed home and worked on your farm. Im not coming in [thats the righteous way of running away]. Note the Father had to go out to meet the older brother too. If another son, who also skipped home, came home 2 weeks later, its fair to assume the Father would repeat His welcome, extravagant grace to this boy too, and begin another celebration. How would the younger son react? How could he ever forget that welcome, lavish honor, and being treated as if had never thrown it all away. The younger son, we could assume, memories fresh, would exuberantly pass this undeserved welcome to his other lost brother. Do we, do I do that? This in not talking about folk who were lost to begin with. These are kids, were once family, that took off, and got away to Las Vegas, and are living it up. Wasting it, on their way to the pigsty. What do kids think about going back to the Fathers house [the church}? Who are they going to meet? Older son, or younger brother? Whos got the Fathers heart? to be continued......
