passage for the day..........Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. she earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. this girl followed paul and the rest of us, shouting, These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." she kept this up for many days. finally paul bacame so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ, i command you to come out of her!" at that moment the spirit left her. When the owners of the slave girl realized that their hope of making money was gone, they siezed paul and silas an dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. they brought them before the magistrates and said, "These me are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice." ok.......why does God allow girls to be used as slaves? why does God allow spirits to be around or in us--was she oppressed, or had a familiar spirit, or was she possessed? why are spirits able to see the future????? hmm........i guess that culture had slaves bc they were not a Godly nation? it was Rome. ive seen docs that showed they had slave class.........what a horrible existence i think that would be........:( all different societies have had slaves i have learned--and i admit i am not a very learned person, especially when it comes to history and geography.....ok and science, and law, and economics, blah, blah, blah..........:) it just seems a shame that God would allow some peoples lives to be so bad. "farm boy, hand me that pail!" "as you wish".........(princess bride) it could have been "slave girl, go fetch me some water!".........(and out in the hot, hot sun even)...........at least God, i guess through Christ and the Holy Spirit, inspired paul to write and command those newly saved people who had slaves back then to be good to them and treat them fairly--maybe they were more like servants and not slaves??? idk.......so many hard things in life--and gee, i thought it was just all about junk food, lily flagg pool, and television when i was a kid......:/ why God allows evil spirits to be in or around people?? well, ive gathered that the whole point of Gods Creation is to be filled with Him!? to Glorify Him.......but i give up and forget, so i just really dont know............ why do spirits know more than us clay people?? idk. it really doesnt see fair. as far as Creation goes, it seems we are down on the bottom rung!? ok, near it, bc we are higher up than other earthly animals and plants, and rocks (i got a rock!--charlie brown) once again, i guess the whole point is that people were created to have a relationship with God and be dependent on Him!? but, these are just my thoughts, and not very grand ones at that......... all i know is life on earth is sometimes very hard, and meaningless, and lonely.........did i mention hard, meaningless, and lonely?? and it is mortal..........we are dependent on food to survive. ive thought about that one as well........i guess being dependent, mortal creatures helps us turn our focus to the Creator, or at least it should..........sometimes it has been too easy for me to get sustenance from my parents house, or to go and get my green from the bank and flash it fastly at fast food places......and then just go and do my thing and have my fun in the sun.............(and boy, it was so sun sometimes......:) laying out at the lake, and pool, and beach. driving around in my convertible..........:) swimming all around.......) but without food and water all humans die..........and without Gods Holy Spirit all humans die spiritually...........oh, how ive struggled with all of this my whole entire existence........times of great dread on many occasions, wondering if im doomed/damned for/to hell for all eternity..........well, all we have is a book, and supposedly Gods Holy Spirit........and many egotistical preachers sometimes preaching-or yelling-their own things........see post below............. "and we wait....for a rescue....with our arms-something........i forgot the words........:( i will look, look to the heavens.........something else.......:) ill look for the song and post it........ im not a very learned person, and im definitely not a bible teacher.......im just sitting on my front patio and decided i should open up my bible bc i hadnt in quite a while. this passage is where i opened up to.........so, im just sharing, and pretending a bit im teaching a lesson, and pretending i know anything about what im writing about. so, wheres that rapture i always heard about??????
