pg 53 V11 THE MYSTERY OF UNION At one time they were united, they were positive and negative in one. Legends have come down to us that this was indeed so, is it possible that this is a reply to the meaning of twin-soul? It is possible that it partly explains the cry of aloneness that echoes through the world, it cries through all nature, a cry that I have sometimes called the call of nature to a deity, a call to something outside ourselves; it is a call sent out because the aloneness is almost more than we can bear. It is very difficult to understand this mystery of aloneness, neither friends nor lovers take it away, nor parent nor child, it is an unsatisfied cry that calls out to get us back to home. Where is home and what is home? What is it we want and what are we calling out for and to whom? Often the more company the greater the loneliness. We want to be known, to be understood, to stand unclothed in our nakedness and be ourselves; it stage that we cried out for freedom, the next stage is that we cry out to be part of a whole, a conscious part of something greater than ourselves. We cry out because we want to be resting and belonging and being at one with everything else that lives, in perfect harmony and AT ONE.
