When we did Extreme Makeover in Columbus, OH upon my arrival the producers announced that they wanted a black Santa despite the fact that we had just about 200 performers on site. They thought it would be nice since it was a black neighborhood and a black family receiving the home. In my quest to find someone to fit the suit so to speak, I learned that most blacks believe that Santa is a rich white man. One black man actually told me if he had the magic to come down chimneys he would be taking the presents not leaving them. Of course he was joking and laughed in his version of a Santa laugh. There are some markets that the population is right for it.
