I want to thank all the people that helped and pushed me forward during the entire thesis process..especially my family, friends and the supervisor of my thesis thanks!! a short description ... This master thesis was inspired by a very salient issue that Albania faces every year. The research focuses on the topic of global warming and the increase in natural disasters as a consequence of the latter. The author after conducting a detailed analysis of flood risks in Albania through different simulations of floods decided on the most vulnerable areas. After deciding the area of interest, the author went on to find the architectural solution to the problem. The thesis takes an experimental approach to architecture and tries to go beyond classic thought towards the issue. The involvement of Information Technology and the exploration for Robot Architecture is a key feature of the thesis. The research concludes with the design of a centre for rapid intervention in case of flooding in the area of Velipoja, Shkodra in North-West Albania. Given the peculiar conditions in the area, where there are an aggregation of different elements such as urban settlements, touristic infrastructure, RAMSAR site and the delta of River BUNA, the author decided to expand the functions that a typical rapid intervention centre would include. Thus the designed centre is self efficient in terms of energy as well as it makes a very important connection as a receiver of information from different aspects as well as it has facilities to provide in cases of disasters in the area. The choice of materials is also very important and for this several case studies were analyzed.
