poisoning by massage. At the other professional group one of the members proposed to discuss this article saveyourself.ca/articles/poisoned-by-massage.php immediately some of our colleagues posted , agreements, including claiming logical explanations within this writing, including opinions that it” beats the ol toxin flushing myth. I have concluded that this type of “articles”is a poison for massage therapist’s mind. I couldnt wait(would be very hard for me) that more supportive posts would be posted and offered my opinion. Please read below. There is a lot more to discuss and to learn on this subject please follow this discussion, I believe it will be very educational, clarifying a lot. Will be back after office. Meantime please, if you have interest in this issue read my long post. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I would recommend to ignore most of uneducated demagogy within this writing. No doubt any muscular injury is not positive phenomenon, and possibly can initiate many different diseases including fibromyalgia, possible rhabdomyolysis etc. massage therapy is a physical method of treatment and if to press excessively we can inflict injury . But how many people after muscular injuries by massage or by other means developed rhabdomyolysis ? Again we shouldnt inflict injuries , therapy is a therapy and not otherwise . This claim sounds like claim of Canadian “scientists “Prof. Tchaikovsky, who claimed that massage therapy is decreasing blood supply to the tissue . Massage therapy is not something new, history going back 150 years, proven to be very powerful methodology of treatment. I would say very safe, side effects free powerful methodology of treatment. Can you imagine if massage would decrease blood supply? Each client would leave us sick. Can you imagine that correct applied massage therapy techniques, would lead to rhabdomyolysis???? In regards of post-massage soreness. Statistically only 10% of people reacting with postmassage soreness, and this is due to significant increase of blood supply which is very positive .Each of us reacting on massage procedure differently. Massage therapy in practice 150 years, and Oriental massage in practice for thousands of years. If it would make people sick we wouldnt survive as a methodology of treatment , as well if we wouldnt contribute health benefits we wouldnt survive .We shall ignore ridiculous claims, like massage is a poisoning. Best wishes. Boris
