post by billie mitchell. i thought i would share one of many ways iron gait reaches out to the community.. sat was a great day for little gabe dehart.. he had a badge to earn for his cub scouts. .he had to learn 5 safely tips when around horses..how to correctly mount and dismount a horse and he had to have a supervised horse ride with a helmet.. helping him along the way was tiff and greg.. they did an awesome job. by the time his day was over he was riding with control of a horse the first time.. when your a 7 year old riding a draft the arms have to learn to stretch and go farther than you ever thought.. by the end of the day he could stop make him go and turn all by himself.. the also learned the importance of always being aware of where the horse is and what its doing at all times.. he was so proud of himself by the end of the day he went from being led around on a horse to controlling one on his own!
