post script to my latest Jamaican getway - - ( pixs soon come ) , having 1st visited Jamaica in 1982 & many time since this time I decided to return to Negril for 1st Visit since 1992 and as always it was hard to leave !!!! the place I stayed was fantastic ( Secrets cabins @ Firefly ), the food great as always , the people so nice as always , my only regret was watching Bama lose in a Jamaican Sports bar ( Seaview) - - - - and not being able to stay longer & go visit old friends at STRAWBERRY FIELDS TOGETHER & in Kingston - - - as always I stumbled around off the beaten tourist trap path to places like the Red Dragon a seriously historical hippy haunt , the car park where the taxis hang & Nurse the sign mon paint me a nice sign for Mexibbean Island Grille back home in Alabama & a Bushwacker sign for Fireflys bar :) Best in the West roadside bar & jerk centre was a convenient & frequent watering hole ( and bartender gorgeous ) , hung with people from Israel , Australia & Ohio too ! lol The Love Bus was epic , discovering new joints all over - - Hakuna Matata@ Pablos Cafe ( please support this new operator she so nice ! ) No Limit bar had mi game on too !, Grace Lees beautiful home - -and above all the wonderful owners , managers & staff at Firefly Cottages Firefly Beach Cottages made the trip simply wonderful ! One Love , Every Jamaican I came in touch with from taxi drivers to beach hagglers, bar keeps , people on street was irie and I walked all over Negril dawn to dusk & later - - flew in via Mobay 1st time in years ( usually Kingston ) , boy it fancy now , blew off renting the usual car & took Knutsford Express bus - Awesome ! :) Thanks to all in this group for the info , trip was too short to do everything , eat everywhere , my Kingston girl had go home early with chickgunya , but all in all the weather was nice , water perfect & will never understand how MoBay packed with tourist & Negril nearly deserted off-season ?? the airport in & out was packed with tourist ! Please go visit my new friends at CGrapes bar & restaurant at Firefly Cottages and have a Bushwacker frozen drink ! The new owners are wonderful there & to my joy there were no unsightly naked old men wondering around anymore :) though I heard they were great at keeping the hagglers at bay !! lol
