posting again, case anyone missed it.. very very important! The old system of the ‘Head of Household’ filling in a form has been replaced by Individual Electoral Registration. The Government estimates that 80% of people already registered to vote will be seamlessly transferred to the new Register. But this leaves 20% who might not realise that they are no longer registered to vote. Electoral Registration Officers have sent out letters but if you’ve moved or the letter got lost in the post? Luckily it is quick and easy to register online at https://gov.uk/register-to-vote You will need your National Insurance number and five minutes of your time. You can also download a form from the same website if you prefer to register by post. If you are not sure that you are registered to vote then please do one or the other. If you are already registered then you’ve lost nothing but five minutes of your time but if you weren’t registered then you’ve gained your vote. And there is an election or three coming up in this area!
