presents a perfect example of political correctness at its most extreme. Journalist Steve Rose wants modern animation to be absolutely boring and pedestrian. No such things as exaggerated caricatures or anything. According to this guy, no race, color, or ethnicity deserves to be caricatured. Which misses the point of being a cartoon. A cartoon is an exaggerated caricature of real life, and stereotypes like these still exist in real life. And, of course, cartoons can be classy about such stereotypes. To people like this guy, America should be a nation of PC non-threatening utopian robots. And that makes for an utterly boring story. Which is why the Looney Tunes have died out. Because of ultra-sensitive PC crap like this. People like Steve Rose do not deserve to determine whats good for animation.
