The Head of State noted the importance of Ukraines integration into European and Atlantic security systems and the necessity of creating new security system in the world. Only know we have understood the importance of security and I am proud that all our European and Atlantic partners understand that we are fighting not only for territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, but also for global security. It shows the necessity of creating new security strategy, the President emphasized. We will always remember the price Ukrainians have paid to receive an opportunity to live in a different country, the President noted. The Head of State emphasizes that yesterdays decision on sanctions was difficult, but the EU found an opportunity to demonstrate its unity and solidarity with Ukraine while having a lot of own problems. It shows how close Ukraine is for every leader, every European country, the President said adding that Ukraine needed well-coordinated and efficient policy of not only European countries, but also the whole world. This approach was demonstrated at the NATO Summit in Newport. Speaking of the Crimean problem, the President noted: They say that we have lost the Crimea. No, there is an invasion of the Crimea. But it will be with us again. The President emphasized that it wouldnt be done by military means. We will win this economic and liberal struggle for Crimean residents, because we will be efficient, democratic, free and non-corrupted, Petro Poroshenko stressed. According to the Head of State, crisis in the East of Ukraine will be solved in the same manner. When we initiated peace process, few people thought that we will manage to establish even fragile peace. But each day more people are starting to believe that we will succeed. Even now not everyone understands what a positive feeling it is not to receive news about the death of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians every evening, the Head of State said. The President emphasized: For us, Ukrainians, it is very important to be together. We can win only when we are united. I am proud that before the beginning of the election campaign when internal contradictions reach the highest level Ukraine is now united as never before. Petro Poroshenko mentioned high representation of participants of this years meeting of Yalta European Strategy. It is a very important gesture of solidarity with Ukraine. We understand that we are not alone in this extremely difficult struggle for our freedom and democracy. We will continue the traditions of Yalta in the future, the Head of State said. The President informed on simultaneous ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament scheduled for September 16. He noted that such decision had never been made in such a short time and expressed gratitude to President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz for that. Petro Poroshenko also expressed gratefulness to the participants of YES meeting who have made significant efforts to elaborate this historical document since 2007. The Head of State assured that in the nearest time an anti-corruption law would be adopted and Ukraine would demonstrate significant progress in its struggle against corruption immediately after the parliamentary elections. Petro Poroshenko informed on the introduction of the strategy of reforms Ukraine 2020. We will spend these 5-6 years changing the country. We will be changing Ukraine having a very important prospect for Ukrainians – EU membership. Ukrainians passed one of the most difficult exams in their life to become members of the EU, the President emphasized. Having informed on his plans to visit USA and have a meeting with the U.S. President and officials the following week, Petro Poroshenko expressed hope to obtain in the nearest time a status of non-NATO ally of the United States. The Head of State highly evaluated the preservation of tradition of holding annual YES meeting and the decision of its organizer to hold a conference even in conditions of occupation of Yalta. It is very important that this form of dialogue is continued. I am confident that in the future we will have an opportunity to return Yalta conference to its original place, the Head of State said.
