prime/prīm/: adjective-of first importance; main. Of the best possible quality; excellent. noun- a state or time of greatest strength, vigor, or success in a persons life. verb- make (something) ready for use or action, in particular. The perfect name for my wonderful chicken little monkey. And I am that something he is making ready for use or action. I have never enjoyed the little things so much in my entire life. Our journey thus far has allowed me to embrace my authenticity in ways I have never before. For the first time in my life when I step to the line with this dog I can say that my intention is simply to be in that moment with him & do my part to let him shine. I love this feeling of not being in a rush, but just enjoying every little moment. Yes, we have lofty aspirations, but with Prime I feel like I care much less about the destinations ahead & much more about who we are becoming as we travel. I hope to never lose that because its a better feeling than any ribbon, title, or win Ive ever had. But I believe we will have our fair share of the latter as well :) I was loving his start line stays this weekend (its definitely more than I usually ask from him in a trial environment), & our lines are really cleaning up nicely. I dont think he wasted any yardage in either of our runs which is pretty huge even in comparison to a week ago. I appreciate how he is experimenting a little with his jumping style (it isnt the finished product I want yet), but I love how he seems to be trying to work out how to use his power, huge stride, keep the bars up & still keep the nicest lines. Its crazy how much difference there is in how he uses his body every week. I cannot believe how much effort he is putting into keeping those bars up (not the best jump form, but more jump work & experience can fix that). Im also super excited that my timing seems to be improving a little each week. And even more exciting is that I am finding that every time we run together, I am able to drive more & more without the bars coming down. And for those who have asked why I havent been posting any videos other than jumpers... we are only competing in jumpers right now partly because I cannot afford to run 2 dogs in everything & partly because I dont think we are ready for more yet. https://youtube/watch?v=ZBpsbXXMtrg
