proud mama. I have always encouraged my kids to think for themselves. 17 year old daughter told me last night about a discussion her conservative government teacher started in class on Friday. To sum it up: Teacher expressed to the class his views that gay marriages are fine if they are civil unions but not should be recognized by churches or be considered as marriages Daughter spoke up and said that no religion or church owns the word marriage . Also the for hundreds of years daughters were considered property and were married off as business arrangements in exchange for property, goods and money. These marriages were blessed and arranged thru churches. Then the bell rang teacher couldnt say anything else lol.
