Where can find the project of Republic of the Philippines, Department of Agriculture, Beauru of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources xii, Di Malenta building, Leopoldo Dacera sr., General Santos City. As our intention we were going to clean the side of the shore and plant mangrove trees as one of our contribution to our natural resources in our community. First, I notice that some people living near in the site is fishermen there are lots of house near in the shore. And when it comes to the side of the shore are lots of plastics, piece of dress and other dirt near in the shore. And there are lots of mangroves near to the shore, there are new plants and old plants has 60 years old mangrove. We started cleaning the side of the shore as a one big team. We pick those plastics, piece of dress, and other kinds of dirt found in the shore. We pick those make water dirty. After that were going to plant mangrove tree. Before we start planting mangrove they teach us why is it important to our community living near to the shore and also to the fish living underwater and how to plant mangrove tree. Mangrove tree is important because it can protect people living near to the shore if it’s going to have big wave from the sea, it also give food for a small fishes living underwater and it is where small fish hide from there predator. Mangrove tree also knows “Bakawan tree” and its Latin word is “Rizafura”. There are three kinds of bakawan tree, “Bakawan lalaki” “Bakawan babae” “Bakawan bayut”. When it come to planting Bakawan tree we need to cultivate 2 inches underground and at the bakawan seeding at least 1/3 of its body. That how to plant the mangrove tree.
