randall-- In case you missed it, President Obama delivered a big win on income inequality in his State of the Union speech last night. Last week, 48,506 DFA members asked the president to use his State of the Union address to announce that he would sign an executive order requiring federal contractors to pay higher wages to their workers. And last night, President Obama did just that, announcing that the minimum wage would be increased to $10.10 on all future contracts. This is a huge step in the right direction for the President and an important victory for working families -- and it never would have happened without the support of activists like you and a coalition of progressive organizations fighting for a fair economy. Now we need to keep up the momentum -- and weve got big plans. Please chip in $3 to support the next phase of DFAs minimum wage campaigns across the country. This executive order is a big momentum boost for DFAs campaign for fairer wages, and in the coming weeks we will keep the heat on Washington to keep moving forward. And the action isnt just in Washington. Right now, states from Alaska to Arkansas to New Mexico are considering putting minimum wage referendums on their November ballots -- a move that could increase Democratic turnout, putting the House back in play. We want to take this fight everywhere where higher wages can be won. Every day from now until Election Day, DFA will be mobilizing our members to win big victories from City Councils to statewide ballot measures to Congress. Are you in? Lets turn this victory into an electoral wave together. Donate $3 to help DFA win minimum wage fights and elect progressive candidates -- who get it -- across the country. Thanks for helping us win big -- now, and in November. - Jim Jim Dean, Chair Democracy for America Paid for by Democracy for America, democracyforamerica/?t=3&akid=4391.2384884.Sdwbta and not authorized by any candidate.
