rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/4297-i-can-click-with-nick JON DALY can’t wait to get his Rangers career off and running on Monday when pre-season gets going – and he believes he can form a deadly partnership in the new campaign with Nicky Clark. The former Dundee United star was at Ibrox today to remind fans of the season ticket renewal deadline on June 28. And he feels confident that supporters will watch a potent Rangers team in the 2013/14 campaign as they get set for stage two of the journey. Irishman Daly has been highly impressed with the summer signing activity and is looking forward to partnering Clark, who blasted 41 goals in the Second Division last season as Queen of the South won the title by a record points margin. He told RangersTV: “Nicky did really well in the Second Division last year and scored plenty of goals so it would be nice to play up front with him and hopefully we can link up well and score goals. “I think there were not a lot of attacking options last year so it probably needed to be freshened up and I think the manager has plenty now so there will be competition for places and I’m looking forward to that challenge. “Some good players have been brought in during the summer. The manager spoke to me about that when I was talking with him and I think the players he has brought in shows the standard he is looking for.” Nicky Law, Cammy Bell, Arnold Peralta and Stevie Smith have all been secured and there could be more new signings over the summer. The hard work starts on Monday at Murray Park and that part is always a bit of a chore but there will be early match action for the squad following the announcement of two matches in the Highlands in early July. Rangers will play Brora Rangers on July 7 and then Elgin on July 10, basing themselves in the Sutherland town. They then face Bristol City on July 13 before flying to Germany for an eight-day training trip which includes matches against Gutersloh on July 17 and Emmen on July 20. They then complete their pre-season build-up with a match against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on July 24. Daly said: “Pre-season is all about getting match fit and getting minutes under your belt so it’s important we work hard, take these games seriously and get the squad gelling together as quickly as possible. “Going to a new club you want to settle in quickly so going to the Highlands and then Germany will be great to help me and all of the other new lads get to know each other. “I have played at Hillsborough a few times. It’s a fantastic ground and always has a good atmosphere so I hope it will be the same again.”
