rat update..the pest control guy found the rats portal of entry..it had chewed through the metal exhaust fan pipe over the stove..then it tunneled behind the wall where it could enter/exit via the hole it made in the floor under the oven..(what a rat wont do for bird food)..all i can say is i must be one sound sleeper not to have heard it...but so far all is quiet..dweez and peanut butter are happy and were all feeling less stressed...(the whole thing really creeped me out)...repairman will be back to permanently seal the portal in a few days..the end/AMEN..
