reading some of the comments on this story in the Guardian and I think the following one sums up lots of peoples feelings about Britain. Precisely. Unlike Britain, the rulers of Germany never felt it necessary to completely destroy their manufacturing base in order to weaken and subjugate their workers. Unlike British politicians, those in Germany genuinely seem to feel loyalty to their country, and to their fellow countrymen. British politicians are loyal only to those in their social class, their American superiors, captains of industry, Rupert Murdoch, and their croneys at the golf club. We are a nation of broken people dominated by the descendents of Norman bastards who crushed the rest of us a 1000 years ago and venerate bastardry and betrayal more than anything else.
