reminds you you that Sir Charles Spencer Charlie Chaplin (April 16, 1889 –December 25, 1977) was an English actor, screenwriter, and film director widely regarded as one of the most creative and influential personalities in cinematic history. Of course, Chaplin is best known for his work in the silent film era; however, his speech at the end of The Great Dictator (1940) is also worthy of remembrance, and notably in line with the true spirit of the holiday on which Chaplin passed away.
