reply I received from Sen Nelson. Dear Mr. Rayburn: Thank you for contacting me regarding the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. I support the Keystone pipeline, but only if the oil it transports is prohibited from being exported to other countries. I believe we should maximize our domestic resources, including oil refineries, and at the same time, move toward types of energy that produce less carbon emissions. The bill recently before the Senate didn’t prohibit the oil from being exported to other countries so I voted against it. The decision to approve the pipeline still remains with the U.S. Department of State. I appreciate the time youve taken to express your thoughts on this matter, and I will be sure to keep them in mind should this issue come before the Senate again. Sincerely, Bill Nelson
