#repost of #WIGS: Less is More, but the title has changed! #WIGS: Accidental yet Deliberate Pharisee Myonna, what are you talking about?! When God spoke this to my spirit this morning, I felt confused for a second. I asked God, How can something be an accident but be deliberate all at the same time? God instructed me to define accident and deliberate. The definitions of accident and deliberate are... 1. Accident means a sudden, unexpected event that usually results in a damage (injury) and/or loss. 2. Deliberate means to do something consciously and intentionally **Stay with me now...** ASK YOURSELF: Am I confident in my OWN righteousness? Do I look down at everybody else? If you answered yes to the questions, the Bible would describe you as being a modern-day Pharisee. The definition of a Pharisee is one who knows the law of Moses and is restricted by it and tries to create their own laws to restrict others. Theyve become self-righteous... **Ok. Stay with me!** In Luke 18:9-14, the Bible describes Jesus actually speaking to the Pharisees. Where Jesus spoke of a parable where there were two men going into the temple. One was a tax-collector (spiritual untouchable) and the self-righteous Pharisee. The Pharisee bullhorned his prayer to God so the tax-collector would not only hear him but feel a form of conviction. While the Pharisee is speaking, the tax-collector feels ashamed and wouldnt even look up to the Heaven. But, Jesus ended with For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 18: 14) Genuinely, ask yourself: Have I accidentally/deliberately try to offend someone of lesser faith than me? With a knowledge of possibility of being a modern-day Pharisee, would I want a change?
