reposted from a member, My 13 year old Asperger son is getting ready to be kicked out of another school! We go through this every 2 years. He has been to 6 schools. He is now in the 8th grade. Hes been to 2 Catholic, then public, then Advanced public and now a small private school. I really thought I found HIS place in a school that will understand him and give him the academic challenges he can handle. I received a call yesterday saying that he was sticking out his middle finger at recess and he stuck his tongue out at his teacher. Im at a loss. He has 5-8 kids in his class and the school is making many accommodations for him. The owner/principal told me that she is going to allow him to take his exams next week but she will not tolerant disrespect to her teachers and this is not the school for him. Now what?!?!? I have tried for several years to find someone to home school him for me. Me home schooling him is not an option. I just started a new job. I have not worked since he has been in school but I really need this job. Where do I begin to find a person in my city that will be willing to home school my son for me? If he gets to finish out this year at this school then for 9th grade he will be in the public high school that has a very large population. That will be a nightmare for him. Everyone seems to think that he has control over his behaviors. What has worked for other parents? I really need some advice. Thank you!
