respect for our hands should be the sub-title of this beautiful video about the granite quarries of Rockport in Massachusetts that were in operation for not even 100 years. After they had given up their granite, they filled with water and as a member of the Rockport Water Committee for ten years, one of our duties was to preserve and utilize the liquid contents of several of them. One (Johnsons Quarry) is still a working quarry if the owner wanted to work around the edge of it, but the owner Don Johnson passed on a few years ago and the town was not able to purchase it from him before he set sail. I wanted it really bad so that the water therein would be used in dire fire emergencies in the heat of some future summer if a large fire in the forest on the SW side of town started blowing in and threatening all of it with showers of sparks etcetera, but the acquisition was not to be. I love this video....
