road scholar and the white mule; Ruth ran like a mule this week,sure footed and steady and when the pullin got hard she pulled harder,good old gal!!!We rolled on out of Iowa on Wednesday PM and unloaded in Clovis,NM on Friday PM.Then we came on down to Hobbs,NM and camped out til Monday AM when well be out on the desert loadin tanks and truckin them up to Rockford,Illinois.I got a Motel room Friday and Saturday night and now are camped out at a Walmart.We ran afoul of the law on the way down,imagine that!!!We got inspected in Kansas and came out of that without any scars.We both passed.Then strollin into Guyman,Oklahoma we got busted for 59 in a 45.One of those towns that extends their lower speed limits out of town 2 miles,nice little scam.But believe it or not we got along great with this young cop,he was pretty cool and he lowered it down to 50 in a 45.WE sat there and talked for 45 more minutes.He was in the K-9 unit task force of the District Attorneys office and had a nice dog in back.It was a Belgium Shepherd and was a drug dog.He showed me lots of pictures of his drug busts all found by the dog.All in all it was a good visit and enjoyable too.Never in my life would I have thought that about law enforcement.Renewed my attitude about folks.I think maybe Ive been a renegade trucker way to long and got set in my ways.Anyhow it was an interesting trip and Hobbs is an interesting town.Hard to find American food and so I ate lots of Mexican food.Its a great culture down here and the people seem to be a happy people and friendly.The majority are mostly Spanish.The temps have been perfect around 65 to 75 with lots of sun.Well thats the weekend report from those that are seldom seen.Pray for those less fortunate and the homeless which like to me is becoming more and more each year.God will be pleased and remember we live by HIS mercy,so keep lookin up folks.Bunk is callin now that we are surrounded by darkness.
