rumours that NTS reportedly wants a move to China : Players will always be rumoured with moves, so we can wait and see how this pans out. AFTER a week of turmoil as they prepare for the Club World Cup, Western Sydney Wanderers have been hit with a fresh blow, this time involving captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley. The 29-year-old central defender, who was this week named as part of Ange Postecoglou’s 46-man provisional Socceroos squad for next month’s Asian Cup, is reportedly keen on a move to an unnamed Chinese Super League club in the January transfer window. The Western Sydney club, who have been locked in a bitter pay dispute with the players over the allocation of the Club World Cup prizemoney, are unlikely to make it easy for him though. They are expected to take a hardline stance in response to the threat of a player boycott before this weekend’s Club World Cup showdown with Mexico’s Cruz Azul in Morocco, which has now been averted. Apart from the distraction of winning the Asian Champions League in November, it’s been a disappointing season thus far for the Wanderers, an issue they are keen to remedy in Morocco. They are yet to win a match in the A-League and lie on the bottom of the table with three draws from nine games.
