s/o Rick Perlstein for the #fiy lit on the privatization of Chicagos public resources t.co/kfgYmxim3t. i touched on that in the record Same Difference t.co/LhHR34CdaI... with that said ive got three theories on the economy: 1) investing in the stock market is privatized gambling. shopping for mutual funds is like hiring a personal gambler, cuz you know you and yo patnas gon trick off in Vegas. youre like mmm I dont do craps, ima cards guy. so you invest in low-risk shit with a modest yield. 2) lobbyist licks + privatization deals are like when mama paid the power with the heat $. or used a debit as a cc to buy gas with $ she aint have in her account yet. politicians personal finances read like thriving drug dealers. 3) monopoly is about us. but for real. currency is a concept. million dollar deals are conceived, evaluated and assessed, not physically transacted. theres just enough paper printed to make us value and covet it. theres just enough printed to facilitate marketplaces. but the real numbers are merely discussed and estimated. social capital is everything. schooling, connections & pathology are the only difference b/w you & them. in fourth grade we got in trouble for putting numbers on paper slips, coloring over w/ crayon & selling scratch (use a quarter) lottery. reality was, it was only wrong because we werent paying (bribing) the state for the right to facilitate gambling. couldve been a great teaching moment. but instead we were discouraged from enterprise altogether and told we were headed to a life of crime. the investors you hire to play blackjack with your money on the market all day, trick on the same vices you would in vegas... WITH YOUR 💰! the politicians that lease highways to foreign loan sharks w/ zero regulation for 💰 upfront to pay the city power bill... are no different than you. you pay a tax for the right to earn money and the right to spend it. but because of your socioeconomics, youll most likely be sent off. which will almost guarantee by the time you learn the game, youre dead. i just want my people free tho. educate yourself and get you some.
