shop til you literally drop Thanksgiving into Friday? Holiday shopping to start Thanksgiving Day at four area malls Could you shop for 24 hours? Here’s your chance to try at four Bloomfield Hills-based Taubman Centers shopping outlets on Thanksgiving and the day after, nicknamed Black Friday because retailers rack up high sales, making profit margins roll into the black. In Oakland County, Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, Nov. 28, and remain open until 10 p.m. Friday. Two hours later, Twelve Oaks in Novi opens at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening and closes at 9 p.m. Friday, providing customers with more than 24 hours of continuous shopping, officials said. In Dearborn, Fairlane Town Center opens at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and closes 10 p.m. Friday. The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township opens at 6 a.m. on Black Friday and closes at 9 p.m. “We’re responding to requests from both our customers and our retailers to open earlier, especially since the holiday season is six days shorter this year,” said Karen Mac Donald, Taubman director of communications, All stores are expected to be open during the centers’ posted hours, with the possible exception of restaurants, theaters and department stores, which independently determine their operating hours.
