shortly before my father died, he asked me to keep the family together...we talked about what that meant and how difficult it would be, but he said it had to be done and it was my job...at the funeral and days after, my brothers all fawned over all the things that my dad meant to them and how important family was...since that time, I have tried my hardest to keep the family together but have been rebuked in every manner imaginable...so it is with great regret that I finally admit that despite the rhetoric, my brothers really dont give a shit about this portion of the family...the four boys (well, according to one brother, I dont actually count anyway) are no longer my concern, no longer worth the effort, no longer worth the pain...sorry dad, but after 19 years, I can no longer keep the promise...I now feel that the last and only time I will see any of them again will be at my mothers funeral...if I find out in time to even be there...
