...sitting here this morning before dawn reading the news while listening to the soothing sounds of the lake, forest & swamp awakening, when all of a sudden I am startled by this loud but muffled sheet metal thumping sound. I thought what the hell, then a few moments later I hear it again... and again... and again. Curious, I hobble out back straining to hear it so I can determine what it is. - I hear it and home in on the source a little, then again, and I home in a little more. Round the corner of the house by the pool when this big five-inch chameleon climbing on top of the pool heat pump catches my eye. Suddenly he crawls between the grates of the unit, and I hear "THUMP." :-0 :)) It appears that for some odd reason lizards were acting out the Lemming Theory, jumping off the heat pump into the spinning fan blades committing suicide. A half dozen of them voluntarily dismembered and decapitated in less than ten minutes, it was like the silence of the anoles or some shit like that.
