slasher flicks have been around since the thirties and i enjoy a freddie krueger or firday the 13th, for some weird reason we enjoy watching the act of killing i cannot tell you why or how, all i know is that the purge is just nonsense it isnt even fun nonsense like deathrace 2000, that was sylvester stallones first movie...maybe i am just getting to old, but to glorify death and mayhem is jus tacky...the purge may have started out as statement on american culture, but not it is an excuse to show rape and death for no other reason than public demands for a sequel. sure there are bloodier things out there like walking dead and game of thrones, but the violence is just a part of the stories and there are reasons behind them, not just hey yall lets try out letting everyone rape and murder one night a year to get it out of their system, but people still go and watch, i tried to watch purge anarchy, but once i saw the first few minutes, i saw that it is not the right movie for me. like i said, i am not sure why we as humans enjoy watching other people getting maimed and murdered and like i said i enjoy the occasional halloween flicks except 3 which is the dumbest movie on the planet. i just do not dig the purge, how many more sequels do we need, it is like final destination, which i think is just dead, i am hoping that the same dull plotline will quickly wear out the welcome of said purge......
